Newborn Hearing Screening

The Newborn Hearing Screening is a routine health check offered to all babies in Australia and is usually performed within the first few weeks after birth.  Hearing loss may not be obvious within the first few weeks of your baby’s life, if your baby has problems with hearing it can be picked up by this hearing screen. You will be given the results of the test immediately after the test is complete and the results will be recorded on your baby’s Personal Health Record.
