Tests, vaccines and medicines for newborn babies

There are a number of routine tests and medicines offered to newborn babies within the first few days after birth. These include vitamin K, Hepatitis B vaccine, Newborn Hearing Test and the Newborn Screening Test.  As with all medical intervention, whether or not you decide to test your baby or administer any form of medication is up to you. It is therefore a good idea to be well informed of what they are and why they are being offered to you.
